Blood Drive
Celebrating Over 20 Years Together with the Central California Blood Center
The Clovis Rodeo Association makes a difference for people who live and work in the Central Valley. They work alongside the Central California Blood Center to help save lives by hosting one of the largest blood drives in the region during the annual Clovis Rodeo.
Every three seconds someone in the United States needs blood, yet less than 10% of the population that is eligible to give donates. That’s one of the reasons why the Clovis community has come together over the past two decades to make a difference. Since the first rodeo blood drive in 2000 the event has seen more than 8,800 donors and saved almost 18,000 lives. Together, we save lives.
Again, this year blood donors will be lined up throughout the day to give blood. Hundreds of donors will do their part by stepping up and in return will receive a special rodeo t-shirt and be entered to win a rodeo performance package.
For more than 60 years the Central California Blood Center has made a difference by working in partnership with the community to fulfill their commitment to patients who receive care at hospitals throughout the Central Valley. The Blood Center services more than 20 hospitals in their five-county region of Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings, and Mariposa Counties. 5,000 – 6,000 pints of blood must be collected per month to the needs of patients in a Central Valley of more than 1.9 million people.
